MY FAVE RECORDS OF 2010 PART DEUX
r.i.p. ping ping (july 13, 1988 - march 13 2010)
paul mccartney- mccartney II
this was the year i gave up my beef with paul.
nancy martinez- lay it down
um, ya... quebec electro. what can i say? this song isn't on the album, doesn't look like the same person but it is. wig i assume. something about this video really does it for me, perhaps the skin tight purple sequined one piece?
phil manzanera- listen now/diamond head
roxy music guitarist's solo shit featuring robert wyatt, brian eno, godley & creme, robert fripp et al...
manfred mann's earth band- s/t
randy newman covers and massive attack samples...
inner city- paradise
"we don't really need a crowd to have a party..." solid philosophy.
peter green- in the skies
i probably listened to this record more than any other last year, this song in particular. i just never get sick of it. bunk video, sorry...
antena- camino del sol (numero reissue)
i first heard this music via a japanese exchange student that lived with my family when i was a teenager and it's haunted me ever since.
ariel pink's haunted graffiti- before today/loverboy
although i think i prefer his earlier shit that sounds like it was recorded underwater, the new album is truly amazing.
burton cummings- woman love
yup.
bryan ferry- boys and girls
classy shit.
john lennon- walls and bridges
i love how there can be an album like this that somehow just fell through the cracks for me until now. solid front to back.
